Daniel-etienne Defaix
Having spent nearly 250 years in the wine business the Defaix Family have acquired holding comprising of 25 hectares, equally divided between village wines and 1er Cru. The 1er Cru holdings are split into 3 parts, Les Lys, Cote de Léchet and Vaillon. The wines display startling differences due to age of vine and terroir. The average age of the vines is an amazing 38 years. These highly individual wines gain their character from 18 months maturing on their lees which gives great richness and complexity. These full-bodied wines are rich and opulent with zingy, fresh fruit and a stylish finish.
