CVNE

The Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España, more commonly known as CVNE (or Cuné), was founded in 1879 by brothers Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asua. The company has remained in family hands throughout its history, and has been at the forefront of innovation in Rioja (such as fermentation in stainless steel, creating a modern style of white Rioja in 1915). The first winery, established in Haro, has since been joined by 2 more bodegas - Viña Real, and Contino. CVNE grows just under half the grapes used in its wine production, which is one of the lowest levels of outsourcing in the region.
