Château la Clotte Jouanin
Owned by the Chaigne family since 1963 and currently in the more than capable hands of Regis Chaigne (since 1992), Château de Ricaud is located in the commune of Cantois, in the Entre-Deux-Mers, 30km south of St-Émilion, 20km north of Sauternes and 40km south of Bordeaux. The château itself is located on 7ha of ‘agrilo-calcaire’ on the plateau above the river banks. Château la Clotte de Jouanin is an exclusive label made for us by Regis and his oenologist Jean-Louis Vinolo. Handpicked Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon grapes (50% of each) from the estate are destemmed, crushed and the juice cold settled. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for three weeks, after which the wine is racked from its lees and allowed to settle in tank for a short period. The wine is fined and filtered before bottling.
