Chateau Brane Cantenac

Château Brane Cantenac is one of a number of châteaux lying close to the village of Cantenac, alongside Cantenac-Brown and Boyd-Cantenac. It is one of five Margaux châteaux, which are classified as second growths in the 1855 classification of Bordeaux.

The estate encompasses various plots on the plateau, the largest being located directly in front of the châteaux. A total of 90-hectares is under vine on a deep soil of quarternary Gunzian gravel, at places 10 metres deep. In 1925 the Château was acquired by Lucien Lurton who passed it on to his grandson Henri in 1994.
