The Bushmills Distillery
The Bushmills Distillery was officially registered in 1784, although it had been active in County Antrim for many years before this. The company grew thanks to popularity with British high society and an ever expanding market in the USA. Having survived the disruption of Prohibition to the vital US export trade Bushmills was sold to Isaac Woolfson in 1947, who moulded it into the global brand it is today.
