Bremerton Wines
Dairy farm Bremerton Lodge was purchased in 1985 by Craig and Mignonne Willson, who began to experiment with winemaking, producing a Cabernet Sauvignon from purchased grapes in 1988 and planting their own vineyards in 1991. The farm was devastated by a flood in 1992, but was rebuilt with a greater focus on winemaking, a state of the art winery being completed at Bremerton 2000. The Matilda Plains Winery was added to the estate in 2002, named after the family dog, and production and acclaim have soared. Daughters Rebecca and Lucy Willson have joined the team to carry on the family tradition.
