Taking over the helm of the family business in 1922 at the age of 20, Philippe de Rothschild spent over 60 years developing and expanding his estate. Skilful winemaking and sound business decisions, including a groundbreaking partnership with Robert Mondavi in California, fostered enormous growth and international renown. Current chairman Baroness Philippine de Rothschild succeeded her father in 1988, and has brought modern touches to Philippe’s impressive business legacy.
