White Burgundy
|
Burgundy is possibly the most confusing of any wine area as a result
of the fragmented ownership of the vineyard land. At best, the
wines, both red and white, have great finesse and elegance. In all
areas of wine production the most important piece of information on
the label is the name of the producer, as both good and bad wines
come out of every area, every year. Balls Brothers White Burgundy Caves des Vignerons de Buxy, who are responsible for blending our very own Balls Brothers White Burgundy, also produce the fantastic Montagny Les Loges 1er Cru. Made exclusively from the fruit of old vines (minimum age of 25 years), production is rigorously controlled to ensure that yields are limited. | ![]() |

White - 2005 Vintage
Although the summer was relatively cool, lack of rainfall created problems for some growers. Fortunately early September brought much needed rain, allowing a healthy harvest in mid September. The wines are fruity with well balanced acidity, and discernable mineral character.
