I have always believed in buying wines when they are young, keeping them and laying them down until they are ready to drink. The reason is not for financial investment, but to ensure we have good stocks of wines that would otherwise be unavailable. Purchasing for our bars and restaurants has enabled us to buy substantial volumes of many of the wines and this allows us to pass on the cost benefits to you.
The main selection criteria are quality, individuality and value for
money. Individual producers feature heavily because they have
consistently demonstrated to me that their care in running vineyards
results in wines that the very large organisations are unable to produce.
